Premium Compressor manufacturer Gardner Denver has launched the new GD ESM140 rotary screw air compressor to enhance its existing range of oil-lubricated machines.
Designed to optimise energy performance, the machine is ideal for continuous running and heavy-duty applications requiring high volumes of air at the lowest cost.
The fixed-speed compressor is powered by a 132 kW, IE3 efficiency motor as standard, or with an optional IE4 motor, and is capable of delivering a reliable compressed air supply at both 7.5 and 10 bar. Available in air-cooled and water-cooled versions, all models in the range benefit from a larger air end with a slow rotor speed and low noise levels.
Commenting on the launch, Florian Braehler, Industrial Compressors Product Manager said:
“Building on the success of our existing GD compressor range, the new ESM140 has been designed to provide a quick return on investment by improving energy efficiency levels; offering high free air delivery with minimum electrical power input.
“Technological advancements include a high-efficiency, quiet running radial fan on the air-cooled version, which cools the air aftercooler and oil cooler, and is capable of operating in ambient temperatures of up to 45oC as standard.
This air can also be recovered and used for space heating, effectively recovering up to 97 per cent of the input energy.
A further feature to help improve cost of ownership is an optional factory-fitted, oil-to-water heat exchanger, which can also be retrofitted in existing installations. This can heat water to temperatures of over 70oC, meaning operators can recover and reuse as much as 80 per cent of the input energy to help meet site heat demands.”
The ESM140 has been manufactured for easy on site installation and accessibility to all core components and consumables, helping to reduce maintenance downtime during routine servicing.
Each compressor features the multilingual GD Pilot control system as standard. This ensures reliable, cost-effective operation by continually monitoring operational parameters such as temperature, pressure and volume flow, to help evaluate machine performance and reduce running costs further.”
